British Heart Foundation Tournament at Albany Tennis Club on Tuesday 16th May
Calling all Albany Tennis Players!
It’s that time of year again!
British Heart Foundation Tournament at Albany Tennis Club, Tuesday 16th May, 9.30am start, £10 to enter, should finish by 1pm. Refreshments provided.
Please respond to confirm if you can or can’t participate. It’s for a very worthwhile cause, we are raising funds to provide equipment for the IOM Cardiac Department at the Hospital.
We can only have a maximum number of Players, so it’s on a 1st come 1st serve basis! We will have a reserve list in case anyone drops out!
Ian has very kindly agreed to run the Tournament for us again this year.
It’s a morning of social tennis and fun, please join us!

50 Years at Ballaughton Meadows
Thank you to everyone who attended our 50 years Celebration Dinner on 7th October; it was a great evening. All our gratitude to Jan and Pat for the meticulous organisation, and to Kirsten for the wonderful videos, to Clare for the artistic posters and invitations, and to Barbara for the beautiful table decorations. Special thanks also to the LTA President, Cathie Sabin, for being our guest of honour.

Here are the videos shown on the night of the Celebration Dinner, which shows the timeline of Albany’s development over the past 50 years.
President Day 2016
Well done to everyone who took part in the President’s Day Senior/Junior Tournament on 30th October. A great afternoon was had by all – Thanks to Bryan, Pat and Jan for organising and providing a delicious tea! Click here to see some photos from the day.
The club’s Annual General Meeting was held at the club on Wednesday 29 November at 6.30pm.
The meeting adopted the 2016/7 statutory accounts, and agreed to leave the current membership fees unchanged for 2018/9. The new committee was voted in, and is the same as last year with the exception of Kirsten Hall, who decided to step down from her role after several years of excellent service. We thank Kirsten for all her hard work for the club. The positions of Social Organiser and Tournament Secretary remain unfilled – if you might be interested in either role, or just in helping out on the Committee, please let Stuart Colligon (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Pat Sharp (email@example.com) know as soon as possible.
A Night at the Albany Race Track
Come and join us for our annual Race Night on Friday 25th November. It is always great fun, with a lovely chippy supper and the chance to win a few pounds as well. Events like this all help to raise much-needed funds for the club too. Please contact Kirsten for tickets firstname.lastname@example.org
Presidents Day Tournament 2016
Open to ALL yellow ball players – everyone welcome. Even if you don’t ‘do’ tournaments, please consider doing this one. It is great fun and an excellent way to find new playing partners in the club.

Thank you all for your contributions to the Leagues this year. It would be lovely to see some of you at the presentation dinner. We do have a trophy to collect – Men’s B Team in Division 2 of the Summer Leagues and we should hopefully know the outcome of the Summer Mixed League Division 1, where Albany A are up against Castletown A!
