Club Coach
Colin Hanbidge
I am sure most of you have heard that Colin Hanbidge has recently been appointed as Albanys club coach. I am also sure that you will all join me in wishing him good luck in the new position and give him every assistance in developing a program for the club.
Colin is no stranger to the Island; he made a massive impact in his previous role for the IOMLTA as Mini Tennis Coach. I am delighted that he has decided to return as Albanys club coach and I am confident that he will make a similar positive impact in all aspects regarding the club.
Colin brings with him a wealth of experience. He has been the club coach at Giffnock Tennis Club for over 16 years and was also heavily involved with Scottish tennis for a number years. Giffnock Tennis Club has become a successful club producing many quality juniors, a healthy junior and senior membership, awarded mini tennis and performance accreditation from the LTA and has a buzzing social environment. Colin can take much of the credit for the success because of his enthusiasm, knowledge, commitment and larger than life personality (well he is 6 foot 5).
Amongst the many players Colin has had involvement with, Jamie and Andy Murray have gained from his coaching skills.
As a result of his success at club level, Colin was recruited by the Scottish LTA as a talent coach and has taken many teams on tour to various tournaments across the UK.
